Surveying for the Future
Overview of Position:
As an Instrumentman, you will be a key member of our surveying team, responsible for operating and maintaining survey instruments to ensure precise and reliable data collection. Working closely with the Party Chief, you will play an essential role in delivering accurate survey results for a variety of projects.
Essential Functions:
- Set up, operate, and maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GPS units, and levels.
- Assist the Party Chief in conducting topographic, boundary, and construction surveys.
- Record and document accurate field data and observations.
- Place stakes, flags, and markers as directed for construction layouts or property boundaries.
- Ensure proper calibration and care of all survey instruments.
- Communicate effectively with team members to support project goals and timelines.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in surveying is a plus
- 1-2 years of field surveying experience preferred.
- Familiarity with modern survey equipment and data collection software.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
